Why Clients Love Juvederm
Juvederm® has become one of the most popular dermal fillers for both men and women. This is because it is safe and produces natural-looking results. A person could come into our office on their lunch hour, have the treatment, then go back to work or school. However, our aestheticians do recommend that the client rests a bit after their session.
What Is Juvederm®?
Juvederm® is a prepared hyaluronic acid. This acid is found in every living thing and draws moisture into the cells to keep them hydrated. When it is injected into a thin, dry area or an area where there’s a fine line or wrinkle, it causes the skin to plump up. This injectable can be used in the client’s face, including their lips, as well as the hands and neck. Newer forms of Juvederm® come with lidocaine, a painkiller that makes the treatment more comfortable.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
A candidate for this treatment is an adult who is in good general health. They should not be allergic to Juvederm® or lidocaine and should not have active cold sores at the time of the procedure. A person who has cold sores or who has had them in the past needs to be treated for them before getting Juvederm® injections. On the day of the treatment, the client should not wear makeup and should arrive in the office early.
What Happens During the Session?
During a session the client reclines in a chair, and the aesthetician injects the dermal filler, which is a clear gel, into the areas to be treated. A session lasts from a quarter hour to a half an hour, but this depends on how many syringes need to be used.
Another reason that men and women love Juvederm® is that it sometimes takes only one session to achieve the results they’re looking for. Other people need to come back two or three times. There should be at least three weeks between sessions.
This treatment is also long lasting. Its effects can last up to a year, and the client can always return for touch-up treatments. Being a natural product, hyaluronic acid is eventually broken down and eliminated by the body.
